No, coaching is not the same as therapy, counseling or psychology. They deal with past events and how they relate to your thoughts and feelings in the present: whereas coaching focuses on the present and future and is oriented towards you setting goals so you can move forward.
Coaching is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any disease or condition. Nor is it intended to substitute for the advice, treatment and/or diagnosis of a qualified licensed professional.
Coaching is neither consulting nor mentoring in that the coach is not an expert or specialist on your life. Therefore the coach does not give you recommendations or solutions for problems but rather works with you, drawing on your own knowledge and wisdom to find the solutions that work for you. The coach doesn't have the answers but rather has the questions that allow you to find your own answers.
